WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala told the National Foreign Trade Council that “fragmentation can be costly … if the world economy breaks into two trading blocs there would be an estimated fall in the long run level of real global GDP of about 5%,”

Toomey: Biden in some ways is too much like Trump on trade
“I was very critical of the Trump administration for many of the things they did on the trade front that was really motivated by protectionism,” Toomey said in remarks at the National Foreign Trade Council’s annual dinner. “I’m disappointed with the Biden administration is following the lead of the Trump administration when it comes to trade.”
